Subathon Overlay Widget

The Subathon Overlay is a powerful tool for streamers to run engaging Subathon events, where every donation, including [gifted] subscriptions and monetary donations, extends the live stream's duration. This widget supports [gifted] subscriptions from Kick and incoming donations from integrated third-party platforms, such as Streamlabs and Streamelements, including YouTube super chat and members through Streamlabs. You can interact with the Subathon timer in real time through the Kickable web app, allowing you to add time, pause, and reset the Subathon as needed. Additionally, the widget includes customizable settings to control the rate at which the timer increases for different types of donations.

1. Displaying Subathon on Your Stream

The Subathon Overlay Widget enables you to host Subathon events to raise funds for your stream. Here's how to set it up:

  1. In the Kickable dashboard, go to the "Widgets" section.

  2. Find the "Subathon Overlay" widget and press Copy URL.

Using OBS to Display the Subathon Overlay
  1. Open OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), a popular streaming software.

  2. In OBS, create a new browser source for the Subathon Overlay Widget:

    • Right-click in the "Sources" section of OBS and select "Add" > "Browser."

    • Name the source (e.g., "Kickable Subathon Overlay") and click "OK."

    • In the properties window for the new browser source, paste the copied URL from the Kickable dashboard.

Note: For this widget to work, You are required to configure and then save the widget's settings.

2. Real-Time Interaction

Kickable's Subathon Overlay allows you to manage the Subathon duration in real time directly from the web app. Here are the real-time interaction options:

  • Adding Time: From the Kickable web app, you can add time to the Subathon timer by specifying the desired duration in hours, minutes, and seconds (HH:MM:SS format). This is useful if you want to adjust the timer, such as adding additional time due to technical issues.

  • Removing Time: In addition to adding time, you can also remove time from the Subathon timer by entering a negative duration. This helps you maintain control over the Subathon's duration in case you need to adjust it.

  • Pausing the Subathon: You have the option to pause the Subathon timer temporarily whenever needed. This can be useful during breaks or when focusing on other content during the stream.

  • Resetting the Subathon: If you wish to start a new Subathon event, you can reset the timer back to its initial value.

3. Customizable Rate Settings

Kickable's Subathon Overlay includes customizable rate settings to control the increase in time for different types of donations. Here's how to configure these settings:

  • Kick Donation Increase Rate (in Seconds per Dollar): Set the rate at which the Subathon timer increases when you receive any form of Kick donation, whether it's a [gifted] subscription or a monetary donation. This setting determines how much time is added to the Subathon timer per dollar donated through Kick.

  • Third-Party Donation Increase Rate (in Seconds per Dollar): Customize the rate at which the Subathon timer increases when you receive donations through integrated third-party platforms like Streamlabs and Streamelements, including YouTube super chat and members through Streamlabs. This setting allows you to control the Subathon duration for donations from these platforms.

4. Subathon Toolbar Option

Kickable offers a Subathon Toolbar Option, allowing streamers to conveniently monitor the remaining duration of the ongoing Subathon directly on their devices. The Subathon widget can be displayed in the application's toolbar, enabling you to keep track of the Subathon's progress without having to check the stream continuously. As the toolbar has a limit of three slots for widgets, it's crucial to choose which widgets to display wisely. By adding the Subathon widget to the toolbar, you can efficiently manage Subathon events and stay informed about the time remaining, ensuring a smooth and engaging Subathon experience for both streamers and viewers.
