Weather Overlay Widget

The Weather Overlay Widget is a dynamic and informative tool designed to enhance your live streams by displaying real-time weather information, location details, and time. By utilizing data from the OpenWeatherMap API, this widget provides viewers with a comprehensive snapshot of weather conditions in a specified location. Whether you want to keep your audience informed about the weather or create a more immersive streaming experience, the Weather Overlay Widget offers a range of customizable settings to tailor the display to your preferences.

1. Displaying Weather Information

The Weather Overlay Widget offers the following elements to be displayed on your stream:

  • Weather Condition: Viewers can see the current weather conditions at the chosen location, including details like temperature, humidity, wind speed, and more.

  • Location: The widget displays the name of the location for which the weather information is being shown. This location can either be the streamer's current location (if enabled) or a specified fallback location.

  • Time: The Weather Overlay also includes an option to show the current time at the selected location, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the weather and time in one display.

  • Weather Icon: If enabled, an icon representing the weather condition can be displayed alongside the weather information, enhancing the visual appeal of the overlay.

3. Widget Settings

The Weather Overlay Widget comes with a set of customizable settings that allow you to fine-tune the display according to your preferences:

  • Fallback Location: Set a fallback location that will be used if the user has not enabled location tracking or if there is an issue retrieving the user's location data. This ensures that viewers always have access to weather information, even if location tracking is not available.

  • Update Frequency (in Minutes): Choose how often the OpenWeatherMap API should be queried for updated weather information. The update frequency determines how frequently the widget's data will be refreshed to provide accurate and current weather details.

  • Show Time (Boolean): Enable or disable the display of the current time in the widget. When enabled, viewers can see both the weather conditions and the time at the selected location.

  • Show Weather (Boolean): Decide whether to show the weather information in the widget. Enabling this option allows viewers to stay informed about the current weather conditions.

  • Show Location (Boolean): Choose whether to display the location name in the widget. Enabling this option provides context for viewers regarding the location for which the weather information is being shown.

  • Show Weather Icon (Boolean): Toggle the display of weather icons that represent the current weather conditions. Enabling this option adds visual cues to the overlay, making it easier for viewers to quickly understand the weather situation.

4. Enabling Location Tracking

If desired, you can enhance the accuracy of the Weather Overlay by enabling the Location Tracking setting under the "Location" widget. When enabled, the Weather Overlay will retrieve weather information based on the streamer's current location, creating a dynamic and personalized weather display.
